Special Events
CPA Consulting Group, PLLC is hosting its 4th annual Wine and Cheese Sampling featuring local artists. Each year, the team at CPACG transforms its offices from its normal work setting to a tour of countries represented by cheeses and paired with red and white wine choices.
This year’s featured artist is Rhea Reeves whose work will be featured in the “Tennessee” room where local candy from Colts Chocolates will be paired with Blackberry Wine from Sumner Crest Winery.
Rhea obtained a BFA from the Columbus College of Art and Design where she majored in Sculpture and Painting. After graduating from CCAD, Rhea became an Art Consultant for South Florida businesses and residences representing artists, working with art venders, architects and interior designers. She also helped the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art develop a community education program that used local artists to teach Drawing, Painting, Figure, Watercolor, and Basic Design. Currently, Rhea is working on her sculptural paintings and a nude drawing series. She will be presenting her sculptural paintings at the CPACG event.
Jimmie Kaye will present wines from Sumner Crest Winery of Portland, Tennessee. She is a licensed server who has been with the Winery for nine years. Sumner Crest was incubated in the summer of 1997, when 2 brothers expressed their passion for the county they loved. The people and soil of northern Tennessee gave this love a foundation on which dreams were built: One of Agriculture, on estate vineyards, the other, a winery, with distinctive character. Word soon spread and demand grew for an expanded wine list featuring crisp classic varieties to mouth filling dessert wines. Champagnes and Port soon followed. As recipient of 19 medals from national and international competitions in 2000, Sumner Crest has received the respect of wine lovers everywhere. The blackberry wine is 1 out of 10 Thoroughbred wines across the country and pairs well with chocolate. This wine, along with the Peach and Strawberry wines will be presented in the Dessert Room at the event.
Ten cheeses have been selected and ordered with the help of a representative of Whole Foods and paired with wines recommended by Sami Arnouk of Cheers Wine & Liquor of Lebanon, Tennessee. Fresh flowers adorn each presentation and are designed with special care by Fresh by CarryAnn, a CPACG friend and client.
The transformation from CPA office to art show and wine & cheese sampling would seem major, but aside from the food and drink addition, the presentation isn’t much different from the normal. CPACG has a collection of the art presented in years past by Alice Shepherd, Edie Maney and Trish Tallon-Blanchard and hopes to add to its collection each year. The office is purposefully arranged in a warm and gallery setting creating an environment conducive to learning and growing with the clients served here.
For this event, CPACG’s walls will be livened with new art of local artists, it’s offices filled with sampling of wines and cheese, and its team will circulate the halls, all in an effort to stimulate conversation with clients, staff and artist, and assure the satisfaction of the senses. The event will be held at the offices of CPA Consulting Group at 1720 West End Avenue, Suite 403 on November 11, 2008 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
