CPACG Alumni

Jessica Talley, CPA

Senior Accountant and CPA, Jessica Talley started with CPACG at the company's launch. Her areas of skill included setup and development of QuickBooks, tax preparation, consulting with individuals and small businesses, and compilation and review of financial statements. Before joining CPACG, Jessica worked for Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools, where she gained experience in non-profit accounting and budget writing, as well as taught computer skills to adults. She also worked at Jacobs, Cohen and McCormack, where her responsibilities included tax preparation and bookkeeping. Born and raised in Nashville, Jessica was a graduate of Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. She was a member of Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. When was not helping clients, Jessica enjoyed spending time outdoors. Jessica moved to Atlanta, Georgia in July 2006 to pursue her career in private industry.

Lynn Blier

Lynn is a supervisor CPA who brings sixteen years of experience to CPACG from her former roles as Staff Accountant, Senior Accountant, Auditor, Controller and Consultant. She became the mother of identical twin sons in 1995 and started an accounting practice in January of 1996 in order to be at home with her boys. As sole practitioner of her own firm, she provided tax, accounting, review and consulting services to businesses and individuals.

A native Nashvillian, Lynn is a graduate of McGavock High School here in the Music City. Her interest in the accounting profession began very early in high school during the completion of two years of accounting and many other business courses. While attending school, she was an accounting clerk for a large, local insurance company.

Lynn received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee where she majored in Accounting and had minors in Social Science, English and Psychology. She was also an active member and vice president of Omega Phi Alpha National Service Sorority and participated in intramural sports.

When Lynn is pursuing interests outside of accounting, she enjoys spending quality time with her twin boys and enjoys their extracurricular activities such as baseball, basketball, and soccer, Cub Scout caving trips, and Church and school activities. Lynn was a dancer for seventeen years and is a former dance and gymnastics instructor for young children. She still enjoys dancing and values spending time with family and friends.

Cassie McClendon

Cassie specializes in bookkeeping services for the clients of cpacg. She was born and raised in Nashville, TN. She attended McGavock Comprehensive High School and graduated in the top quarter of the class of 1982 with an interest in Accounting. She has 20 years of varied accounting/bookkeeping experience with a most recent position of Junior Accountant/Accounts Payable for AKG Acoustics, U.S., a division of Harman International Industries Inc. AKG is well known to musicians and performers for their excellent microphones and headphones. Prior to that she worked as a bookkeeper for Marlin and Edmondson, CPAs and in the business office of the law firm of King & Ballow.

In her spare time, Cassie enjoys music, knitting and caring for her three dogs.

Dena Finley

Dena was born and raised in Minnesota . She served in the Army at Ft. Jackson , South Carolina where she met her husband. The Army moved them to Mannheim , Germany where their two daughters were born. Dena began her business career in Germany preparing income tax returns for H & R Block where she specialized in individuals with foreign income exclusions.

When their tour in Germany ended, the Army moved them to Ft Campbell, Kentucky. Dena continued her business career in Clarksville , Tennessee for over 10 years at Weakley Business Services preparing individual and business income tax returns as well as providing bookkeeping and payroll services.

In 2005, she passed the Enrolled Agent exam administered by the Internal Revenue Service. This sparked her desire to go back to college and is currently working to obtain a Bachelors Degree in Management with a Concentration in Finance and Accounting at American InterContinental University in Clarksville , Tennessee . She expects to graduate in September 2007. Once graduated, Dena will add this degree to her existing credentials such as her Associate Degree in Business Management obtained at the same university and her Certificate as Accounting Assistant at Mansfield Business College in Columbia , South Carolina

In her spare time, Dena enjoys spending time with her family and traveling. One of her favorite adventures was visiting the city of Prague in the Czech Republic . She is a very active member of her church and has two dogs: Rex (Greater Swiss Mountain Dog) and Magi (Yorkshire Terrier).

Peni Ingram

Peni Ingram is the Audit Manager of the Firm, and has planned, performed and conducted audits and reviews of financial statements of not-for-profit organizations as well as non-public for-profit businesses for twelve years.Her prior experience was in the areas of compiled financial statements, tax returns and other tax compliance such as sales tax, payroll taxes, property taxes and business licenses, for businesses in various industries including health care, construction, technological, manufacturing and distribution industries. Her mantra is in alignment with cpacg in that she strives to be thorough in each engagement and provide the best service possible.

Peni is proficient in a number of accounting software programs, including Quickbooks, Peachtree by Sage, GoSystems Audit, Creative Solutions, and others. Peni earned her degree in Accounting at Cal State California University, Fullerton. She is a member of the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants and a member of the Greater Cool Springs Area Chamber of Commerce, for which she provides complimentary bookkeeping and tax services. Her hobbies include playing Appalachian folk music and old time string band music with her husband and the Grand Old Dulcimer Club of Nashville.
